Why Is It Called the Tribe?
During the 1980's, Meeker wines were generally distributed in a number of states throughout the country, but this began to change in the early 1990's when Sonoma rapidly became a prime target for wine-tasting tourists. At this point, The Meeker Vineyard winery consisted of a 1,664 sq. foot building with no tasting room and only a tiny wine lab in which to welcome growing numbers of visitors. In an act of desperation, Meeker erected a 40-foot-tall tipi (an authentic Sioux tipi in every respect except size) beside the winery and began using it as a tasting room. This crazy idea worked.
 
Ever since, our wine club has been known as the Meeker Tribe.
 
With more than 2,000 members, the Tribe represents our core, long-time and devoted customers. We work hard to make great wines, host fabulous events and provide a memorable, engaging experience for our Tribe members whenever they come to visit. 
 
Why Should I Join the Tribe? 
 
Tribe members get special wines, special events and special prices. Tribe members receive shipments of two bottles of our new release wines, four times a year, at a starting discount of 20% off. The amount of the discount increases with your longevity in the Tribe, reaching 30% after three years!
 
In addition, Tribe members get access to "Tribe Wines" - extra small productions of Charlie and Lucas' innovative wine projects - including Winemaker's Reserve Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel, Sonoma County Petite Sirah and Malbec. And, perhaps best of all, once or twice a year we host a Tribe-only party at the winery, featuring live music, tons of great wine and all the BBQ you can eat.
