Handprint Merlot

If BIG is better, then this is the best Handprint ever-jammed full of lush flavors now, and at the same time worthy of lying down for years. The rich color is almost black rubies, with the nose of sweet cherries, cocoa, spice and coffee. On the palate, lots of cherry, stone fruit, and chocolate surrounded by creamy French oak. The only thing that lasts longer than the lingering finish is the amount of time you can cellar it.

2002 Petite Verdot

The nose offers cocoa powder, cherry blossoms and black spice plus hints of blackstrap molasses and pencil lead. On the palate, there's sweet black cherry with a good acid balance, and a tannic edge that will continue to soften as this baby ages. The mouth feel is chewy, with dense black fruit. And this wine continues to become ever more appealing and complex with each additional month of bottle age. Try this one with steak or venison, or something else lusty enough to match its heft. You won't be disappointed!
